Mr. Dancelot
In the video "Mr. Dancelot", the central message is how not to teach your material in a classroom. The professor would not let the students practice the dance steps before the final and would lecture them behind a podium instead. I don't agree with Mr. Dancealot's method of teaching. I believe students need hands-on experience in the classroom, especially in this situation and many others.
Teaching in the 21st Century
The amount of technology available to our students today is astounding. The internet and the devices they use to access it have brought the world to their fingertips. There are just so many ways that teachers can show students how to properly use that technology to be successful in today's world. I find it very exciting how much technology is evolving every day. In a decade or less, the way we look at a classroom could be different. In my classroom, I would incorporate as much technology as I could because it is the future.
I. Technological availability
A. Children's access to technology
II. Technology Education
III. Evolution of Technology
A. Everyday there is something new
B. Classrooms in the future
IV. Resources
A. Our greatest source of information now is the internet
VI. Technology In My Classroom
The Networked Student
I think students still need a teacher in the classroom, even though technology has evolved so much that most students can learn things on their own. They would need guidance from teachers on how to properly use a computer, the internet, or any other device. There are still social rules to follow when using these tools.
Harness Your Students' Digital Smarts
I really liked this teacher's method of teaching. She helped them understand how to use blogging and the computer without teaching from her desk. Teachers have to be learners too or how are they going to adapt to new material and situations in the classroom? I think she was correct when she said that all teachers had to be learners too. I believe they also have to be technologically literate to keep up as well.
Who's Ahead In The Learning Race?
Younger students today are very far ahead in the learning race. They are learning new technological things in the classroom that I was never taught. I remember having Windows 98 computers in our computer lab in middle school. They were extremely outdated, but now every student in my hometown is given a laptop to take home so they can work on their schoolwork. It will be interesting to see what children these days will be using in the classroom when they are in high school or college.
Flipping the Classroom
The method "Flipping the Classroom" is completely new to me. I've never heard of it before. I think it's very important to get the parents involved in their child's classroom so that they can be aware of what is being taught. I would really enjoy using this method in my class because it is a progressive move forward in the classroom with using technology.
Bringing The Locker Room Into The Classroom
Teamwork is a vital part of the classroom and building team-based skills is very important in a student's life. When they finish school and go to work, they will need to work in an environment where they learn to work together and accomplish a goal. I have always supported teamwork and team-based projects in the classroom.

Blog Post #1 What Have I Heard About EDM 310?
I first heard about EDM 310 during the Fall semester of 2014 before I planned on taking it the following Spring. I heard it was tough and that it was easy to fall behind if you didn't do your assignments during the scheduled time. I listened to the advice, but didn't really take it to heart. I ended up having to drop the class because I fell behind and I was very disappointed that I had let that happen. My biggest fear pertaining to this class, would be to fall behind on my assignments again. But I'm positive that will not happen again, because I've already made that mistake once.
The most difficult thing for me in this class will be time management. Last semester, this class wasn't the most important thing to me happening at that time and I wasn't focused. I was distracted and said I would do the assignments later. But since then, I've realized I've had to make this class my entire focus for the summer so I can get my assignments done on time. This should be an interesting summer semester and I'm looking forward to it.

Practice Blog Post
Who am I? Why do I want to be an educator? What does an educator do in his or
her practice? What are my passions?
1) About Me
a) My hometown
b) My family
d) Interests
2) Education/Major
a) How I Ended Up Being An Education Major
b) Teaching in the 21st Century
My name is Andrea Aube and I was born in a small town called West Point. It's in North Mississippi and it's where I spent most of my childhood. I moved to Tupelo, Mississippi where I went to high school in the neighboring town, Pontotoc. After high school, I went to Itawamba Community College in Fulton, Mississippi and earned my AA degree. My family and I decided it would be easier to move to Mobile so we could live closer to where my Dad worked in Pascagoula, Mississippi. I had a difficult time transitioning to the culture on the Gulf Coast, but I adapted eventually and I've grown to really like living in Mobile. I have two half-brothers, Logan and Garrick. Logan is the oldest of my brothers and he has two children, my niece and nephew. I enjoy taking them to the beach in Gulf Shores to look for seashells, going fishing on the lake behind my house, and watching Netflix with them when the day winds down. I get to be a "Cool Aunt" for a few days and nothing makes me happier. Below is a song that you can probably catch my family and I singing to in the car on the way to the beach and it's one of my favorites right now.
I decided to be an education major in high school when I realized I enjoyed helping others learn and how delighted I felt when a child I was tutoring understood what I was teaching them. I plan on getting my Masters in reading and becoming a reading coach/specialist, so I can help students by giving extra attention to any reading issues they may have. I'm very excited to begin that journey once I graduate from USA. I think teaching in the 21st century has evolved so much and that we are constantly having to adapt to the progress of technology. In a couple years, we may be able to implement a new piece of technology in the classroom and it could change how we teach. I think it's very important that educators keep up with that so that we can help our students learn.
